Publication Design

I designed this postcard and a brochure (not shown) designed for an annual Juried Art Show & Sale at the Minnetrista Cultural Center during my internship.

This is a poster I designed for a Connections Event for the Miller College of Business. The events featured speakers for the various business degrees that students can earn.

Additional design

This is a poster designed for an AIDS Awareness Fashion Show that took place at Ball State University. I also designed an accompanying flyer and helped develop/design photos for a calendar to be sold at the event.

I designed this cover for Stance, an International Undergraduate Philosophy Journal at Ball State University. I collaborated with a group of students to create the layout design of the journal.

This is a page I designed for Deal, a poker magazine that another student and I created. We researched, interviewed, wrote the stories, designed the magazine from scratch by creating type and design templates and printed it.

Newspaper Illustrations & Layouts

I designed this newspaper page for the Ball State Daily News for the alt. section. The story is all about the religious practice of voodoo; its history to its use in today's world. I founded the alt. section, combining feature writers and page designers to focus on alternative issues and page design.

This is a newspaper page designed for class covering a news topic of our choice. The goal was to create an illustration and page design to portray the story. The news story that I chose was about a new type of atheism that wanted to erase all other religions.

Web Illustrations & Animations

I created all three of these Flash interactives for Ball Bearings, Ball State's online publication. Ball Bearings published audio/photo stories with graphics and interactives weekly. I regularly designed Web graphics and created Flash packages. Since my graduation, Ball Bearings has teamed up with Expo (Ball State's print magazine), redesigned the Web site and included more video production.

Going Green is an alternative story package, displaying environmentally-friendly features in a few of the new or updated Ball State buildings.

Book of Poems was an interactive that allowed users to create their own poems and immediately publish to the Web site. I created the graphics while a fellow Web design student developed the HTML needed.

Burnt Out is another alternative story package, describing the pros and cons of the smoking ban Ball State proposed. The ban is now in effect.
